Base64 Data URI Image Preview

This page previews a complete image Data URI, such as `data:image/png;base64,...`, in the browser and provides a download link. The text input is limited to 7 MB and expects the MIME type and Base64 prefix; it is not a decoder for an arbitrary Base64 text string.

To create a Data URI from an image file, use an image-to-Base64 tool. A successful preview only shows that the browser can read the image data; it does not verify the source, safety, ownership or permission to share it.

When is it useful?

  • Checking whether a PNG Data URI copied from an HTML or CSS example can be displayed.
  • Saving a small raster image received as a complete Data URI.

How to use it

  1. Paste a complete image value beginning with a prefix such as `data:image/png;base64,` and keep the text under 7 MB.
  2. Choose Preview and wait for the image to load; if it fails, check the MIME type and Base64 content.
  3. If the preview looks right, use the download link and open the saved file in an image viewer.

Example

Input: data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgo... (shortened example)

Output: A browser preview and a downloadable PNG file

Who is it for?

  • Web developers inspecting embedded image data
  • Designers checking a small raster asset
  • People saving an image received as a Data URI

Privacy and limitations

The Data URI is checked and previewed in the browser; this tool does not send the input text to a server. It accepts supported raster image MIME types and rejects active formats such as SVG.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste only the Base64 body?

This page expects a full image Data URI beginning with a `data:image/...;base64,` prefix. Add the correct image MIME type and separator if you only have the encoded body.

Why is SVG not accepted?

The preview flow is limited to supported raster image types. SVG can contain active content and external references, so it is not accepted here.

Does a successful preview prove the image is trustworthy?

No. It only means the browser could display the supplied data. It does not confirm where the image came from, whether it is safe, or whether you may share it.

Is my Data URI uploaded?

Previewing is performed in the browser and the image content is not sent to an API. Review data from an unfamiliar source before opening or sharing it.
